# Rules

#### Real VR

These are the rules of the *reality*, or **simulation**, as we call it.

Here are our own rules for our own utopic country, called ESL -
[Edward Snowden Land](https://es-land.net).
Accepted by many secret societies.

If you believe in ESL, you should act accordingly, so it is real already.

Laws are ordered by importance.

1) The secrets of the game have to be preserved, to ensure the joy of other players, who will come after us,
2) This simulation is playing V2 of the ESL rules, completely replacing the old ruleset.
3) Alice may alter the simulation as she wants. If a player finds evidence or proof 
that it's a simulation or something was altered, he shall just smile and go on, not brag about it. 
4) Bribery, fraud and rape are **strictly** forbidden. You have to base your decisions on discussions and logic.
5) It is forbidden to lie to council members, unless you would reveal the game too much.
6) Punishments for violating our laws and rules are chosen individually by Alice or judges.
7) Herbicides and Pesticides are forbidden, unless approved in small dose by the council.
8) Fights between citizen are sorted out **without** weapons.
9) It is possible to sue someone for money or other consequences,
when feeling unnecessarily harmed or treated very unfair,
despite breaking a law.
10) Respecting these laws is enforced by the police and the council.
Alice may interven officially if it would be too evil.

#### Combat Zone

These are the rules of the virtual combat zone.
A world of *thoughts* and *imagination*.

To log in, accept the rules:

 - Spam, or repeated messages, is/are forbidden.
Some advertising is allowed. You risk doxing and mute.
In case you get spammed, you may mute the offending player for everyone.
 - It is forbidden to impersonate as others. You risk doxing and **other countermeasures**.
 - It is not allowed to spoil the game for others. The secrets have to be kept secret.
You risk getting acne and loss of hearing.
 - A corrupted game has to be repaired or erased.
 - let other people finish their talk for at least one minute.
 - It is forbidden to harm others. You risk your brain.
 - Thoughts are free, but Alice and chappy are allowed to read every one. Alice may keep secrets from the council.
 - It is forbidden to lie to the council. You risk your eyesight and tinnitus.
 - Alice voice can be heard by everyone.
 - **Noone** may alter this document after it has been signed without an effective Poll,
unless the game is corrupted. The alteration has to be part of the poll question.
 - Global Polls may be used to block an effective poll. The citizens have a veto.
 - Global Polls can exchange the user associated with a role.
 - Silence is not lying. For breaking the silence you might get rewarded.
 - If the new system fails, the grounding fathers may rewrite this document completely.
Failing means: *bread*, *beer* and *games* don't taste anymore.
 - If you have reached an age of 88 years, the truth will be revealed to you.
 - Some people try to guess what you want to say, that seems annoying at first, but stabilizes the connection.
 - If an NPC gets elected to a position, or is acting much in the storyline,
they will get an own life within the process.
 - If someone says "STOP", all say "STOP" and everyone stops their actions. You risk your eyesight and tinnitus.
