# Shadowdogs - How to play

Shadowdogs is a text based mud / mmo / rpg.

You can play with various chat systems, like irc, whatsapp, discord,
and interact with players from all those networks in a single game world.


## Begin the game.

1) [Connect](https://pygdo.mira-gpt.org/core;connect;broken)
to the GDO chatbot over one of the possible connctors. 
2) Talk to the chatbot, usually named `Dog` or similiar.
3) Write `#enable` - then `#start`.
4) Pick a gender and race, like `#start male human`.


## Parties and Players

Every player is in a party, often alone.

Each party has an action, and probably an ETA.

For example the command `#explore` will set your party exploring the current area.

When an action is over, the action get's executed.

During movement actions you can meet mobs, friendly NPC and other human players.
Rumors tell that mysterious artificial Lifeforms are playing as well.

Of course you can `#join` other parties, have fun, solve quests,
enhance your equipment or farm a bit [money](#money) or something.

### Party actions

- `explore` - finds a new `#known_places` in exploring area.
- `travel` - moving between areas with a train or taxi. No encounters.
- `goto` - when eta is over you are inside or outside the target location.
- `fight` - currently fighting a target enemy party.
- `inside` - currently inside target location.
Check `#c` to list current commands,
special commands are listed at the end of that list. 
- `outside` - currently outside target location. Try `#enter`.
- `work` - currently have to spend time. usually for quest actions.
- `talk` - currently meeting another party. you can `#fight` or `#say` language.
- `sleep` - currently recovering in a location with the opportunity to... `#sleep`

### The WorldCoin

The money in this game is called the WorldCoin(WC).
It is bound to resources, and relative hard to get your hands on.

It shall be a strong currency, because:

 - A damaged vest as prey from a noob? It is hot and cannot be sold...
 - Every kill a few coins? Not in shadowdogs.
The WorldCoin is a regular drop item that drops rarely and not much.
 - Items are rather expensive and it is hard to obtain non-hot material.
 - There are rumors that you can spend rich amounts for a code change.
